New Enclosed and Top Fan Models for MEP-500A Series
Delta has expanded its high-performance MEP-500A Series medical power supply with two new configurations: the CRA (enclosed model) and DRA (enclosed model with top fan), delivering versatile, reliable power solutions for a wide range of medical system applications. This Series provides three distinct form factors (open frame, enclosed, and enclosed with top-fan), offering enhanced thermal management and integration versatility within a compact design. Specifically, the MEP-500AxxJ CRA (enclosed) features a protective enclosure that reduces the risk of accidental contact with internal components while streamlining system assembly. Additionally, the MEP-500AxxJ DRA (enclosed with top fan) delivers a full 500 W output via an integrated low-noise fan, eliminating the need for external cooling while ensuring quiet operation for medical environments.
Beyond its versatile configurations, the MEP-500A Series offers 12V, 18V, 24V, and 48V output options, alongside a 5 V / 2 A standby output for flexible auxiliary power. To ensure reliability in demanding environments, it sustains consistent performance across a broad operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The Series also features 4 kV Electrical Fast Transient (EFT) immunity. This guarantees stable power delivery essential for reliable signal processing and consistent image quality even in electrically noisy environments. For enhanced system control and integration, the unit also incorporates built-in remote on/off and remote sense.
Moreover, this high performance is matched by up to 95% efficiency and an outstanding 25.64 W/inch³ power density within a compact 3" x 5" footprint. Featuring a low-profile design of just 1.5" (enclosed) and 2.3" (enclosed with top fan) in height, these latest configurations simplify system integration while maximizing space within space-constrained medical applications, including ultrasound and IVD systems, ventilators, operating tables, and surgical lights.
Furthermore, the Series are engineered to meet stringent medical safety requirements featuring 2 x MOPP isolation and Type BF classification for uncompromised operation. It is fully certified to international IEC/EN/UL standards across the medical, IT, and household sectors, securing global compliance and operational integrity.
